Knowing that the Assembly elections in Karnataka are around the corner, a young couple from Haveri’s area’s Hangal had their wedding invitations designed like Voter Ids to promote voting in the state.
The Karnataka Assembly race 2018 is planned for May 12.

Siddappa Doddachikkannanavar and Jyothi will get married on 27th April. Siddappa is a railway worker and a social activist. With this crusade, he wishes to encourage more people to vote this time.
“I needed to do something unique through my wedding to promote Karnataka elections and when I moved toward my friend Karibasappa Gondi, a constable, about this, he advised me to take this forward and urge people to come out and vote. From that point forward, we designed my wedding card like a Voter ID by including similar fonts and style,” Siddappa revealed.
Before printing, he even took permission from District Collector for his voter ID-like marriage invitations.
The invitation card has couple’s photo, marriage date and a message that peruses – Your vote is valuable.
